Chainsaws are an inherently scary thing. They’re loud and can even be deadly, depending on who’s wielding it. Shinji Mikami has exploited this fear numerous times in his works, the most notable example being the Chainsaw Man from Resident Evil 4. In The Evil Within, Mikami has taken a page from his past work with the Sadist. He’s an intimidating enemy, even if he’s a familiar foe for many horror fans.
The latest installment in Bethesda’s The Creatures Within series puts a spotlight on this chainsaw-wielding baddie. The Sadist would rank pretty low on my list of favorite enemies in The Evil Within, but that doesn’t make listening to Mikami chat about him any less fascinating.
