Resident Evil is Being Adapted Into a TV Series

I almost included this in my Resident Evil recap, but it’s not often that a horror game franchise inspires a TV series, so I figured this story was worthy of its own spot.
We don’t know much about Arklay, which looks to be taking a page (or two) from FOX’s Gotham. All we know is it will be set in Raccoon City — and the Arklay forest, Spencer Mansion, and the surrounding Umbrella facilities — around the same time as the original Resident Evil game, before the STARS were dispatched to investigate a mansion and long before the latest sequels had time to convolute things.
Here’s the official pitch: “When Detective James Reinhardt is thrust into a series of bizarre homicides, he unravels the city is hiding a dark conspiracy. Learning a fatal virus is connected to it all, Reinhardt discovers it’s already coursing through him. With time no longer on his side, he must solve the conspiracy to save his own life.”
Could be good. Maybe even great. Either way, I’m looking forward to seeing what we get.
