We’re no strangers to the incredible work of George A Romero here at Bloody-Disgusting. His expansive living dead universe that began in Night of the Living Dead is expanding every month thanks to Marvel Comics. “Empire of the Dead” sees the addition of vampires into the world of the undead and continues threads from Land of the Dead among Romero’s other masterworks.
Today “Empire of the Dead Act Two” draws to a close. There is some real turmoil amongst the streets of New York City. Penny might be a vampire and well, there appears to be even less room in hell. Act One of the series is already available, here, and makes for one hell of a collected read. While, the print collection of Act Two will be in stores on 3/11.
So without further adieu, here’s the first cover to “Empire of the Dead: Act Three”

Romero understands the wide possibilities of the comic format and has used it to tell his biggest, most epic story to date. In this final chapter the narrative bomb he’s been carefully constructing under EMIRE OF THE DEAD’s Manhattan goes off with a bang! There are dangers coming from all sides, no one is safe, and blood will flow. It’s everything an undeadhead would want from the Godfather of Zombies himself, George Romero! – Series Editor: Jake Thomas
