‘Black Lung’ Haunts Amanda Seyfried
Variety reports that Jennifer’s Body‘s Amanda Seyfried and Theo James (Underworld: Awakening) will topline Black Lung, a supernatural thriller from 2929 Prods. and Emily Ziff and Sara Murphy of Cooper’s Town Prods.
“Seyfried plays Del, wife of a Utah coal miner (James) whose premonition moves her to save her husband just before an explosion in the mine traps all the other miners, an act that tests her marriage, puts her under suspicion of state officials tasked with the rescue, and stokes the resentment of all the other women in town. With time running out to save the entombed men, Del’s increasingly horrifying visions hint to something darker at play within the iconic mountain that looms over the plateau like an anvil, a darkness she comes to believe will consume them all.”
Principal photography begins this summer on the pic, which marks the directorial debut of screenwriter Chase Palmer, who also wrote the “Black Lung” script.
Every body has a secret. André Øvredal’s The Autopsy of Jane Doe is getting a brand new home video release from Severin Films, marking the movie’s debut on the 4K UHD format.
The release is part of the Severin Summer Sale, launching June 26.
When the body of an unidentified young woman is discovered at the scene of a mass slaughter, it is sent to the local coroner (Brian Cox) and his son (Emile Hirsch) for surgical post-mortem. But this corpse will reveal chilling secrets. The mortuary itself will pulse with malevolence. And as their autopsy cuts deeper, an unstoppable evil will rise.
