TWC-RADiUS’ It Follows was a pretty big deal at the box office last weekend.
For those worried they’ll never get to see it in a theater, prepare to get excited.
Bloody Disgusting has been informed that RADiUS and Dimension are further expanding their smash success It Follows into 1,655 theaters as of Friday, April 3rd.
One of the best-reviewed films of the year (95% on Rotten Tomatoes) has also been bolstered by strong word of mouth with audiences coming in droves – exemplified by its Top Five box office performance this past weekend.
Directed by David Robert Mitchell, “Maika Monroe plays 19-year-old Jay, who, after a seemingly innocent sexual encounter, suddenly finds herself plagued by nightmarish visions. She can’t shake the sensation that someone, or something, is following her. As the threat closes in, Jay and her friends must somehow escape the horrors that are only a few steps behind.”
For those who have seen it, read what the director had to say about the finale.
As we keep pushing on you: I gave It Follows a perfect score, calling it “a classical horror masterpiece.” Mike Pereira referred to as a creepy, mesmerizing exercise in minimalist horror” when reviewed out of the TIFF last September.
