Los Angeles rock trio Failure have announced The Heart Is A Monster, their first new studio album in 19 years. The followup to 1996’s Fantastic Planet will be released on June 30th via INresidence.
Member Greg Edwards states:
Thematically we’ve moved from the outer space of Fantastic Planet to inner space. From the dislocation of one’s identity to the complete erasing of it by sleep and dreams. I think we’ve used instrumentation in the service of mood and emotion to an even greater degree than on our previous records.
The band resurfaced last year with a single solo show that sold out in seconds. They then embarked on a N. American tour, which included several dates with Tool.
