I’m pretty thrilled to hear about O.R.k., a new supergroup that features bassist Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree), vocalist Lorenzo Esposito Fornasari (Obake), drummer Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson), and guitarist Carmelo Pipitone (Marta Sui Tubi). The band is self-releasing their debut album Inflamed Rides, which can be pre-ordered here. To celebrate this release, the band has put out an official video for their track “Pyre”, and it’s fantastic.
The video, which was produced by Oktopus Productions, is an animated clip that is right up the alley of any horror fan. It shows a being wearing a mask that is meant to help them stand out from the crowd. While this being is “smiling”, all others are frowning, like twisted jack o’ lanterns. And even though they’re all probably incredibly similar on the inside, any difference on the outside leads them to kill and maim. The music only adds to the sadness of this video, making it all the more poignant.
