David Cronenberg’s The Fly is one of the most iconic horror movies of all time. It ushered in a new era of practical horror effects and cemented the directors legacy in body horror, but few people realize there was a sequel. The sequel certainly didn’t have the same legacy, or really any of the redeeming qualities of the first film. However, IDW Publishing aims to recapture the almighty glory of Cronenberg with The Fly: Outbreak.

But you should appreciate that it exists either way, because some day your super niche cancelled tv show or B-horror movie can become a comic book, and that’s a real joy for me.”
