“True Blood” alumna Amelia Rose Blaire, pictured, is returning to the horror genre with a pivotal role in MTV’s “Scream“, TVLine reports.
Blaire will recur on “Scream” as Piper Shay, the smart, quirky host of a wildly popular podcast who comes to town to investigate the recent deaths. This goes well with the story that the slasher TV series is for the social media generation.

Here’s the official synopsis, too: “What starts as a YouTube video going viral, soon leads to problems for the teenagers of Lakewood and serves as the catalyst for a murder that opens up a window to the town’s troubled past.”
