I once had a dream that I was locked in a hotel room. I remember waking up on a dirty bed with old Russian music playing from some hidden corner of the room. Almost immediately, I know I need to leave this place. I’m overwhelmed by this intense feeling that I’m being watched even though I never see anything, sinister or otherwise. I struggle for some time to find a way out, then I wake up. I never find a way out of the room or see my captor(s), it just ends.
There’s more to it, but that’s all I’m able to piece together anymore. I bring it up because it sounds eerily similar to the setting for The Guest, a “gloomy” horror adventure game set in the 80s. The setting is an old hotel room, which the main character has been confined to by some mysterious force. Other than that, I have no idea what’s going on here.
The Guest is headed to Steam by the end of June. Below you’ll find its latest trailer — just don’t expect it to offer any answers.
