Thrash metal legends Slayer have announced that their next studio album will be titled Repentless and will be released on September 11th, 2015 via Nuclear Blast Records. Knowing Slayer, it’s no coincidence that they band chose that particular day as their release date.
This will be the first Slayer album without guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who passed away in May of 2013 of alcohol-related cirrhosis. The band has been utilizing Exodus guitarist Gary Holt since 2011, when Hanneman contracted necrotizing fasciitis, commonly known as the “flesh eating” disease. Repentless features Holt as one of the guitarists, alongside Kerry King.
In addition, this is the first album to feature drummer Paul Bostaph since 2001’s God Hates Us All.
