A couple of years back I played 1916: Der Unbekannte Krieg, a free indie horror game set during World War I. The goal was simple: to not get eaten by any of the man-eating robot Velociraptors that had, for reasons I never learned, taken up residence in the trenches I had been tasked with trying to escape. I was never able to escape those trenches, so I guess I’ll have to use the similarly themed Ad Infinitum as my chance to remedy that.
Before I go further, you really should check out this trailer.
They crammed a lot of freaky into those 90 seconds, huh?
That’s Ad Infinitum, a spooky PC game that’s powered by Unreal Engine 4 and set in the trenches of WWI. It follows the story of a solder’s mission to find his lost brother in an unfamiliar world that’s populated by the kinds of things that usually aren’t seen outside of our nightmares.
