YouTube user Steve Ramsden has created a very charming and quirky mashup by combining scenes from Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel with iconic moments from Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, resulting in The Grand Overlook Hotel!
Ramsden simply stated:
I noticed how Wes Anderson and Stanley Kubrick frame their shots in a similar way – this was the result: “The Grand Overlook Hotel”!
What’s incredible here is that many of the edits are absolutely seamless, flowing from one film to another before you can even realize what’s happened. It’s rather astonishing and also quite telling of how much of an influence Kubrick was on Anderson and his filmmaking style.
