According to Deadline, Nikolaj Arcel is being eyed to direct The Dark Tower, the film adaptation of Stephen King’s fantasy/thriller novel of the same name. King will be producing alongside Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, and Akiva Goldsman.
Arcel co-wrote the Swedish version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, which was based off of Steig Larsson’s novel. He also directed A Royal Affair, which starred Mads Mikkelsen (“Hannibal“). According to Deadline, Arcel will be rewriting the current script, which was originally penned by Goldsman and Jeff Pinker.
King recently commented:
Iām excited that The Dark Tower is finally going to appear on the screen. Those who have traveled with Roland and his friends in their search for the Dark Tower are going to have their long-held hopes fully realized. This is a brilliant and creative approach to my books.
