Variety is reporting that James Wan (Saw, Insidious, The Conjuring) will be directing Warner Bros.’ Aquaman, which currently has Jason Momoa signed for the title role.
Little is known about the movie and its plot but the basic story of Aquaman is that he is the ruler of Atlantis and possesses super strength, speed, and the ability to command sea-life.
The film is set for a 2018 release.
Wan is coming off the success of Fast And Furious 7, which has currently drawn in over $1.5 billion dollars, which puts it among the Top 5 grossing films worldwide. He is also the producer on this week’s Insidious: Chapter 3.
