On June 20th, one of J-horror’s most famous series’ comes to an end when Ju-On: The Final hits theaters. Directed by Ochiai Masayuki and co-written by Ichise Takashige, the film wraps up the story originally brought to us by Shimizu Takashi.
The film’s synopsis reads:
Following the events of ‘Ju-on: The Beginning of the End’, Mai, the older sister of elementary schoolteacher Yui Shono, goes to look for her sister, who disappeared after a visit to her truant student, Toshio Saeki.
The trailer unfortunately does not feature English subtitles, so I couldn’t understand what plot points were offered. However, they’re sticking with the ghost boy in underwear and the trademark “gurgling” sound effect, so we’re in familiar territory.
