Screens and Details Leak from ‘Dark Souls 3’

A batch of screenshots and some intriguing gameplay details have leaked from Dark Souls 3 about two weeks ahead of its official unveiling at E3.

The leak comes from a YouTube channel called The Know, which claims to have inside knowledge and our first look at the upcoming game. Bandai Namco has yet to confirm any of this, but in my opinion, this looks legit.

According to the video below, Dark Souls 3 will again support 1-4 players when it arrives on the PS4 and Xbox One in 2016. A PC release is “negotiable”, whatever that means. The game will also introduce bosses that can “heat up” and change to different forms and now players can sacrifice enemies to invade another player’s world.

Assuming all of the above is true, Dark Souls 3 is shaping up to be a worthy follow-up to the very good Dark Souls 2 (review). This series has only gotten better since it began with Demon’s Souls in 2009, so I can’t say that I’m too nervous about this one.

The real question is whether it’ll be as refreshing as Bloodborne (review) was, with its darker setting and streamlined take on the Dark Souls formula.
