According to Birth.Movies.Death., the role for a new Spiderman is down to two actors: Tom Holland and Charlie Rowe.
While some sites are reporting that the delay in casting is a dispute between Sony and Marvel, Birth.Movies.Death. is saying that there is no issue between the two studios and instead the delay is a result of both parties being very cautious with their decision, wanting to ensure that this third portrayal of Peter Parker is a charm.
Asa Butterfield (Ender’s Game) was a favorite for the part but it seems he is no longer in the running.
Holland has appeared in films such as The Impossible and Locke while Rowe was in The Golden Compass.
