‘Ghostbusters’ Has Its Super Villain!

Neil Casey

Even though filming has been underway for quite some time in Boston, the casting is just now being announced.

Just yesterday it was revealed that Andy Garcia, Michael Kenneth Williams, Matt Walsh and Pat Kiernan have been cast alongside Chris Hemsworth in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, which boasts an all-female crew that includes Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.

Now, Deadline is reporting that “SNL” vet Neil Casey has landed the lead villain role, which is being kept under wraps.

Allegedly, the plan was to land “Game of Thrones” fav Peter Dinklage for the role. He is rumored to play the ghost of a murderer (sort of like Wes Craven’s Shocker, actually) who resurrects a ghost army based on historical characters.

BirthMoviesDeath adds the following information about the role, which includes a ghostly T-Rex (no joke).

The part I’m assuming Casey is playing is Rowan Elgin, a role written for Peter Dinklage. Elgin is a troll who spends his days antagonizing a call-in radio advice doctor as well as working on a secret machine. That machine is placed beneath the Chrysler Building to tear open a hole in reality and begin an invasion. There are ghost T-Rexs, a Times Square magically returned to the porno days and eventually a giant horned demon.

Casey has a very unique and memorable face, which could bode well for some comic relief.

The full plot details have been revealed here.

The busting begins on July 22, 2016.
