Fresh out of San Diego Comic-Con, we have some footage from an early prototype of Resident Evil 0 that was originally shown off at Tokyo Game Show back in 1999, three years before it would become the game that many of us know and love today. It’s not that rare for a developer to start fresh on a game, but Capcom seems to do that more often than most, especially with the Resident Evil series, which has seen a handful of games get scrapped late into their development.
Two of the greatest games in the series would’ve been very different had they stuck with their original plans for them, so I’m not complaining. I am curious why that same eye for quality wasn’t employed during the development of Resident Evil 6.
The Resident Evil 0 HD remaster is slated to arrive early next year.
