Coming out of Comic Con is a behind-the-scenes video for the upcoming sci-fi adventure film Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, John Boyega, and much more.
The video goes in depth on the creative process for the film, showing the passion and love that each and every cast and crew member has for this property as well as the event itself. What really got me was how strongly they pushed for real sets and practical FX, something they could’ve easily ignored. It’s a real treat for fans to see this universe come to life in such a way. Oh, and see if you can catch the few moments where we see Warwick Davis (Leprechaun)!
Also announced at Comic Con were the roles of General Hux, who is played by Domnhall Gleeson, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, and Gwendoline Christie as stormtrooper Captain Phasma.
I have to say, I’m not the biggest Star Wars fan. Sure, I enjoyed the original trilogy and there were a few moments here and there of the new trilogy that were entertaining. But I never read the books or played too many of the games, so I never really got an idea of the grandiosity of the Star Wars universe. But everything points to this being a pretty exceptional film and I’m very excited to see what comes out of it.
