Horror-infused instrumental group Zombi, which is comprised of Steve Moore and A.E. Paterra, have announced that they will be releasing a new album titled Shape Shift on October 16th via Relapse Records.
Moore and Paterra may very well be the reason that the synth style of soundtracks has come back into horror. Their sound is hugely inspired by Fabio Frizzi and Goblin while still being unique and modern, resulting in music that is incredibly exciting, bold, and a must for any horror fan.
Moore comments on Shape Shift:
It’s a rock record – think of it as a follow-up to Surface To Air. There are no techno jams or symphonic prog fantasies. No solo track interludes. We have officially moved from ‘studio project’ mode back into ‘live band’ mode.
Additionally, Moore has opened up pre-orders for his chilling soundtrack to the Belgian horror film Cub, which has a wild synopsis over at Wiki. The soundtrack alone was enough for me to want to see the film but this takes it to a whole new level!
