In addition to giving release dates to Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, as well as both Resident Evil and Underworld sequels, Sony Screen Gems is infecting theaters with Patient Zero on September 2, 2016.

In Patient Zero, an unprecedented global pandemic of a super strain of rabies has turned the majority of humankind into highly intelligent, streamlined killers known as ‘The Infected.’ One victim, Morgan (Matt Smith), who is asymptomatic and can communicate with the infected, leads the last survivors on a hunt for Patient Zero and a cure.

Stefan Ruzowitzky directs the film starring Matt Smith (“Doctor Who,” Terminator Genisys), Natalie Dormer (“Game of Thrones”), John Bradley (“Game of Thrones”), Agyness Deyn (Clash of the Titans), and Academy Award nominee Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games).

In addition, Sony is moving Ghostbusters by a week into a new July 15, 2016 slot.

“SNL” vet Neil Casey recently landed the lead villain role. He is rumored to play the ghost of a murderer (sort of like Wes Craven’s Shocker, actually) who resurrects a ghost army based on historical characters.
