Each week here at Bloody Disgusting we like to highlight some of the new Blu-ray releases hitting shelves across the world. Please note that this isn’t every release for the week, just a few of the ones that jumped out at us.

Lots and lots of great releases this week! From The Hunger finally making it’s way to Blu-ray, to Videodrome getting that ultimate treatment from Arrow, you’ll have plenty of new titles to add to your collection!

U.S. Releases

The Hunger (Warner Archive Collection)

Synopsis:
Miriam Blaylock collects Renaissance art, ancient Egyptian pendants, lovers and souls. Alive and fashionably chic in Manhattan, Miriam shares an eternal blood lust with fellow fiend and refined husband John. But when John abruptly begins to age and seeks out researcher Dr. Sarah Roberts for help, Miriam soon eyes the woman as a replacement for John.

Nightmare Castle (Severin Films)

Synopsis:
A sadistic count tortures and murders his unfaithful wife and her lover, then removes their hearts from their bodies. Years later, the count remarries and the new wife experiences nightmares and hauntings. The ghosts of the slain return to exact their bloody revenge, until their hearts are destroyed…

Nomads (Scream Factory)

Synopsis:
A French anthropologist moves to Los Angeles and is followed by the evil spirits of an extinct tribe he once uncovered.

Burn Witch Burn (Kino Lorber)

Synopsis:
Successful sociologist Norman Taylor is dismayed by his wife Tansy’s magic charms, which, she insists, ward off evil. When he burns them, his disbelief is tested by dreadful misfortune.

Face to Face (Kino Lorber)

Synopsis:
Upstanding history professor Brad Fletcher is forced into retirement by his poor health and moves west for the warmer climate. Almost as soon as he arrives, however, he is taken hostage by famed bandit Solomon Bennett in an accidental confrontation, and by necessity is forced to take up with his cohorts. But the learned man’s growing identification with the gang encourages him to stage a takeover from Bennett, and a new crueller system of leadership is put into place.

Psycho Beach Party (Strand Releasing)

Synopsis:
Florence, a schizophrenic surfer chick, and her alter ego, Ann, a promiscuous partier with a violent streak and a mouth like a truck driver. When a rash of sun-drenched murders occurs, “both” women become prime suspects, along with a surfing guru, a B-movie actress and a Swedish exchange student.

Navajo Joe (Kino Lorber)

Synopsis:
A sole survivor of a bloody massacre vows revenge on his attackers.

La Grande Bouffe (Arrow)

Synopsis:
The film tells the story of four friends who gather in a villa for the weekend for the express purpose of eating themselves to death.

Cub (Artsploitation Films)

Synopsis:
Over-imaginative 12 year-old Sam heads off to the woods to summer scout camp with his pack convinced he will encounter a monster…and he does.

Troma’s War (Troma)

Synopsis:
A small group of typical Tromaville citizens find themselves in the path of a terrorist army controlled by the power elite. The freedom of Tromaville and the world is at stake! Troma’s War creates new kinds of heroes. A used car salesman, a handsome environmentalist, an obese junk-food gourmand, a seventy-year-old housewife, some sensational young women, a year old jingoistic baby and more sensational women all become deadly soldiers.

Ejecta (Shout Factory)

Synopsis:
The story of two men who witness an unexplainable event in the atmosphere on the eve of a historic solar storm and must survive a terrifying life form that’s hunting them. An anonymous group will stop at nothing to unearth the truth behind what happened that night to the men and prove to the world that we were never alone in the universe.

Devil Hunter/Cannibal Terror (Severin Films)

Synopsis:
(Devil Hunter) A Vietnam veteran heads to an island inhabited by cannibals to save a kidnapped model not only from her kidnappers, but also from the cannibals’ lurking Devil god.

(Cannibal Terror) After botching a kidnapping, two criminals hide with their victim in a friends house in the jungle. After one of them rapes the friend’s wife, they’re left to be eaten by a nearby cannibal tribe.

Videodrome (Arrow Films)

Synopsis:
When Max Renn goes looking for edgy new shows for his sleazy cable TV station, he stumbles across the pirate broadcast of a hyperviolent torture show called “Videodrome.” As he struggles to unearth the origins of the program, he embarks on a hallucinatory journey into a shadow world of right-wing conspiracies, sadomasochistic sex games, and bodily transformation.

TRON: Legacy (Zavvi SteelBook)

Synopsis:
Sam Flynn, the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn, looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the digital world of Tron where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant Quorra, father and son embark on a life-and-death journey of escape across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.

Naked Lunch (Studio Canal)

Synopsis:
After developing an addiction to the substance he uses to kill bugs, an exterminator accidentally murders his wife and becomes involved in a secret government plot being orchestrated by giant bugs in an Islamic port town in Africa.

The Fantastic Films of Ray Harryhausen (Via Vision Entertainment)

Synopsis:
The stop-motion animation by legendary special effects maestro Ray Harryhausen comprised some of the most visually stunning effects in film history. Collected here are four of his most-loved films, displaying the talent and imagination responsible for changing the course of science fiction and fantasy films forever. They have yet to be equaled by anything that has been made since. Set sail with the mythological adventures in the 7th Voyage Of Sinbad, The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad, Sinbad And The Eye Of the Tiger and the timeless classic Jason & The Argonauts.

Journey to the Far Side of the Sun (Madman Entertainment)

Synopsis:
A planet is discovered in the same orbit as Earth’s but is located on the exact opposite side of the sun, making it not visible from Earth. The European Space Exploration Council decide to send American astronaut Glenn Ross and British scientist John Kane via spaceship to explore the other planet. After a disastrous crash-landing Ross awakes to learn that Kane lies near death and that they apparently have returned to Earth, as evidenced by the presence of the Council director and his staff. Released to the custody of his wife, he soon learns things are not as they seem.

Julia (Monster Pictures)

Synopsis:
A neon-noir revenge thriller centering on Julia Shames, who after suffering a brutal trauma, falls prey to an unorthodox form of therapy to restore herself.

Muck (Monster Pictures)

Synopsis:
After narrowly escaping an ancient burial ground, long forgotten and buried underneath the marshes of Cape Cod, a group of friends emerge from the thick, marshy darkness, tattered and bloody, lucky to be alive. They have already lost two of their friends in the marsh, presumably dead. They stumble upon an empty Cape Cod vacation house alongside the foggy marsh and break in to take shelter. Whatever was in the marsh is still after them and soon after one of them goes for help, the rest of the group learns that the evil in the marsh is not the only thing that wants them dead. Something worse, something more savage, was lying in wait just outside the marsh, in the house. What happens next is unspeakable horror that cannot be unseen. These unlucky travelers spend their St. Patrick’s Day trapped between two evils forcing them to fight, die, or go back the way they came.

The Harvest (Gryphon Entertainment)

Synopsis:
A couple who keeps their sick son in a secluded environment find their controlled lives challenged by a young girl who moves in next door.

FPS: First Person Shooter (KSM)

Synopsis:
Young pregnant wife Linda has been captured by a ruthless scientist, who created a devastating virus. To rescue her, you have to fight through the old rotten experimental clinic, armed to the teeth, one level after another right through the dark, decayed guts of this evil complex. unfortunately you don’t have much time, at dawn, the whole area will be eradicated.

War Pigs (Ascot Elite Home Entertainment)

Synopsis:
A rag tag unit of misfits known as the War Pigs must go behind enemy lines to exterminate Nazis by any means necessary.

Bombshell Bloodbath (Ascot Elite Home Entertainment)

Synopsis:
Doctor Carter risks everything with each step he takes in resurrecting his recently deceased wife as he infuses his formula, Injection C-900.

The Dead Inside (Ascot Elite Home Entertainment)

Synopsis:
It’s the weekend, and the lads are off on the town! What could possibly go wrong? How about the end of the world as we know it. ‘Something’ has happened, the undead are out in force, roaming the streets and devouring all who get in their way. Several groups of unlikely people find themselves trapped together in an emergency rescue centre, but no rescue is coming! So as the country goes to hell overnight, and the reality sinks in, how and what will these people do to survive.
