‘Dismembering Christmas’ Slashes Up Horrorhound Weekend This September!

Dismembering Christmas

Horror fans typically experience a drought around the holidays. Sure, we’ve got Black Christmas, Silent Night, Deadly Night, Santa’s Slay and uh…Jack Frost, but the holiday season isn’t exactly known for it’s plethora of horror films. Most of the Christmas-themed horror films aren’t of the highest quality, anyway. If you love Black Christmas and Friday the 13th, then Slasher Studios’ upcoming holiday horror film Dismembering Christmas may be the film for you!

Dismembering Christmas is the second slasher feature from Slasher Studios. In 2013, Slasher Studios released their first slasher feature entitled Don’t Go to the Reunion. After playing in over a dozen film festivals and winning several awards (including Best Actress at Crimson Screen Horror Film Festival and Audience Choice at Killer Film Fest). Now, they are ready to deck the halls with lots of bodies (their words, not mine)!

The official synopsis reads:

It was supposed to be a holiday vacation they would never forget, not a holiday vacation they would never survive.

When Mark and his friends go up to his fathers new vacation home for Christmas vacation, they were ready for a fun time. Out in the middle of nowhere, the house is cheerfully decorated for Christmas. But an unknown visitor is there, and one by one they are murdered. Its Christmas and not a creature is stirring except the killer in the house…

Written by Steve Goltz & Kevin Sommerfield, the film is directed by newcomer Austin Bosley. Like their previous film, Dismembering Christmas is a tribute to the glory days or horror (read: the 70s & 80s) and is full of practical effects, which is always a plus for those of us who are tired of cartoonish CGI.

I believe that it is important for everyone in this industry to support each other, but in the interest of full disclosure I should let it be known that I am friends with some of the cast and crew of Dismembering Christmas. We met at Texas Frightmare Weekend back in May, where I got the chance to watch their first feature Don’t Go To The Reunion. I enjoyed that one quite a bit, so I have faith that Dismembering Christmas will be just as good (if not better)!

The Slasher Studios family will be slashing up Horrorhound Weekend September 11-13th in Indianapolis with a special early release of Dismembering Christmas on limited edition blu-ray as well as DVD. Dismembering Christmas is set for public release on October 13th on DVD and limited edition Blu-ray with a special edition clamshell VHS release coming in December.

Anna Faris & Regina Hall Promise ‘Scary Movie’ Will “Offend Everyone;” New Images Revealed

The Wayans are out to cancel the Cancel Culture with Scary Movie, and the cast assures it will do just that.

“They sort of have an across-the-board style,” Anna Faris tells EW. “It’s always been a part of the Wayans Brothers, their electricity. ‘Can we offend you? Will you still love us? Come on, you still love us, don’t you?'”

Regina Hall concurs, promising the “boundary-pushing” sixth installment in the horror parody franchise will “offend everyone.”

EW has shared a batch of behind-the-scenes images from Scary Movie, which hits theaters June 5 via Paramount.

Faris and Hall are joined by fellow franchise favorites Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams in the legacy sequel.

The ensemble includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Kenan Thompson, and Felissa Rose.

Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).

The film will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and everyfinal chapterthat absolutely isn’t final.

Scary Movie launched in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. The Wayans’ involvement ended there, but the series continued with 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.
