The Walking Dead: Road to Survival is available now for free on iOS and Android devices.
The mobile title, developed by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, Skybound and Scopely, styles itself as a gritty role-playing experience that “stays true” to the series’ origins.
The mature free-to-play, story-driven game will feature an “epic series” of head-to-head battle, tournaments and survival conflict as survivors are forced to band together while battling others for resources and “notoriety”.
The story will feature many familiar characters from the comic and TV series, including Rick, Michonne and everyone’s favourite one-eyed madman, The Governor.
“Working with the Scopely team, we’ve had the unique opportunity to translate The Walking Dead story into a deeply interactive and engaging mobile experience,” said Kirkman. “The game design, the aesthetic, the tone and the writing have all come together in an authentic way that we know Walking Dead fans will love.”
