‘Turkey Shoot’ and ‘Borderland’ to Receive Mediabook Releases this October

Published

on

In the fairly short time I’ve been writing for Bloody Disgusting I think I’ve made it pretty clear that I love to collect Blu-rays and I’m especially fond of releases from other countries, particularly those from Germany. In fact quite a few people have questioned why I cover so many German releases. There’s a real simple answer to that – German Blu-ray releases are almost always awesome! Mediabooks, sometimes referred to as Digipacks, are my favorite type of Blu-ray release and Germany leads the way with them. Illusions Unltd has released some fantastic mediabooks over the years and they’ve got two more great ones in store for October!

The first release comes on October 2nd in the form of Brian Trenchard-Smith’s classic Turkey Shoot, also known as Escape 2000. Trenchard-Smith is someone I consider to be one of the more underrated genre directors of all time, so anytime one of his titles gets a snazzy release I consider it to be very much welcomed. The second October release will come a week later on the 9th with Zev Berman’s Borderland. I’ve yet to see Borderland but it does star Rider Strong and I like Ride Strong. Both releases will come with the option of two different limited edition covers.

The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
