“The Mist” Will Seep its Way Into Your Television

Dimension Television has announced that there will be a continuing series of the Stephen King novella “The Mist“, which was adapted into film in 2007 by Frank Darabont (“The Walking Dead”, The Shawshank Redemption). It will be adapted for the small screen by writer Christian Torpe, who has the successful Danish show “Rita”. King himself has apparently given his blessings for this series.

No other details have emerged.

“The Mist” is one of my favorite King stories and the movie is, in my opinion, an amazing example of the importance of horror in film. I remember seeing it and nearly bawling my eyes out at the end. To see this become a TV series is both incredibly exciting and absolutely terrifying at the same time. It could either be really great or really awful. But perhaps the worst thing is if it fell in between those two and simply became something forgettable, something this story surely isn’t.
