A24 has confirmed that they will be working once again with director Jeremy Saulnier, whose anticipated film Green Room premiered at TIFF. Their next endeavor will be the thriller Hold the Dark, which is based on the novel of the same name by William Giraldi, as reported by Variety. The script will be written by Saulnier’s frequent collaborator Macon Blair.
Per the site, the synopsis for Hold the Dark reads:
The film is is an intense tale of fate, family and revenge set in the remote Alaskan wilderness. When a child is taken from his village by a pack of wolves, an expert hunter is summoned to track and destroy them. His mission leads him down an increasingly dark and shocking path as he confronts the cruelty of nature and his own failures as a man.
There is no anticipated release date as of yet, but we’ll keep our ears to the ground.
