Stephen Norrington’s ‘Death Machine’ Gets a Gorgeous Release

Published

on

In 1994, 4 years before he would direct Blade, Stephen Norrington made his directorial debut with Death Machine. Since its release the film has been fairly hard to track down in any physical format (it is available digitally on the likes of iTunes), but that’s all changed thanks to Turbine Classics out of Germany who have now made the film available on a massive combo pack that includes DVD, Blu-ray and the film’s soundtrack on CD. After all these years you can finally understand why Wesley Snipes was quoted as saying, “Death Machine is one of my all-time favorites!”

As you can see from the picture below this set looks to be an absolute beauty. It’s definitely been high on my wish and I’m so glad that it’s finally here. Anyone else eager to pick this bad boy up?

Synopsis:
Chaank Industries, ruthless world leader in future weapons technology, hires a new chief executive, Hayden Cale (Ely Pouget). She soon uncovers Jack Dante (Brad Dourif), Chaank mastermind in weapon design, and his latest invention. In the company’s catacombs he developed the horrible “WarBeast” – a giant machine, a steel T-Rex, ready to kill. To stop Dante and his ultimate death machine, Hayden joins forces with a group of eco-terrorists. Together they start a bloody battle against an enemy without mercy, pity or fear…

The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
