“Twin Peaks” Being Shot as a Single Movie?!

Robert Knepper has joined the cast of Twin Peaks,” David Lynch’s upcoming new installment of his groundbreaking 1990 mystery series, reports Deadline.

The project has been shrouded with secrecy, but they still discovered that Knepper landed a recurring role on the new season for Showtime alongside fellow new addition Amanda Seyfried.

The only actor officially confirmed for the new “Twin Peaks” is original star Kyle MacLachlan who is set to reprise his role as Dale Cooper. Still, according to the site, many other fan favorite characters from the ABC run of the series are expected to return.

“You should be optimistic that the people you want to be there will be there, in addition to some surprises,” Showtime president David Nevins said last month. That reportedly included Catherine Coulson, who played the memorable Log Lady, though it is unclear whether she had been able to film any new footage. Coulson died of cancer earlier this week. I hear among those coming back is David Patrick Kelly, reprising his role as Jerry Home. Richard Beymer had been rumored to also resurrect his character of Jerry’s brother Benjamin.

“Twin Peaks” has been in production for about two weeks, with Lynch directing.

The big news hiding in the article is that, according to the site, Lynch is expected to shoot the series continuously as a movie, and later cut it into episodes.

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78

In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).

Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.

While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.

The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.

Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.

We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
