The fantastic Soundtrack Swaps series from House by the Video Store has created yet another fascinating video where they took select scenes from both Halloween III and Trick r Treat and then swapped the music from both films against each other as a way to see, “…how music effects a scene and can change the tone of a film.” Halloween III was composed by John Carpenter and Alan Howarth while Trick r Treat was composed by Douglas Pipes.
I’m not going to say that each scene works perfectly with the “new” soundtrack, but there is definitely some charm to how they play out. Plus, it’s always great to pay attention to some great composers!
