Metal band Slipknot have released an official video for their track “XIX”, which comes from their new album .5: The Gray Chapter. The video, which is deemed NSFW for nudity, is basically two women, who are covered in mud and paint, being “witchy” around a coffin that they then put into water and set aflame. Edgy.
Look, I understand that this song is apparently a tribute to late bassist Paul Gray but this doesn’t feel deep or poignant. Instead, it feels like Clown just wanted to show off a couple of naked women and set fire to something. It’s like a 12-year old wrote the treatment. Oh, and the blurry camera thing that’s going on? Yeah, that’s gotta stop.
