‘Psycho: The Complete Collection’ Coming to Blu-ray in Australia

Published

on

Via Vision Entertainment out of Australia is releasing another Blu-ray collection to add to their already fine lineup of collections that includes a Ray Harryhausen boxset and the complete Evil Dead Anthology. This time they’re bringing us Psycho: The Complete Collection. When they say complete, they mean complete. This will include Alfred Hitchcock’s legendary first film as well as Psycho II, Psycho III, Psycho IV and Gus Van Sant’s 1998 remake starring Vince Vaughn all on Blu-ray. Psycho IV will be making it’s world wide Blu-ray premiere. These 5 Blu-rays will also be joined by 3 DVDs that will feature a 2-disc documentary, The Psycho Legacy, and the made-for-TV movie Bates Motel which stars Bud Cort and Lori Petty.

I’m pretty stoked about this set. I’ve never seen the Psycho sequels and I hear they’re actually kind of fun, so I look forward to checking them out. And it might be time to re-visit Van Sant’s stab at Psycho. I know it was pretty widely hated, and I certainly didn’t care for it when I saw it, but I haven’t seen it in at least 15 years, so maybe it’ll be better now.

Coming from Via Vision I can tell you that this set will be a winner. The previous two sets I mentioned from them are some of the best I own. Each one is handled with love and care. The picture quality is top of the line and they don’t skimp on special features. Now they are based out of Australia so there is a possibility these are region locked, but so far all their sets have been mostly region free. Between the Harryhausen set and the Evil Dead Anthology only one disc, Evil Dead II, was region B. Literally every single other one was region free. So if I had to guess, I’d put my money on this one being region free.

Psycho: The Complete Collection will be available December 2.

The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
