The Chilean horror/thriller Downhill, which was directed by Patricio Valladares, won the post-production prize at the Blood Window Awards this past Thursday. This win drew the interest of Morbido Film Festival general director Pablo Guisa Koestinger, who is now going to serve as an associate producer on the film, according to Screen Daily.
France’s WTFilms is handling international sales. No news yet regarding a US or North American deal.

After his best friend dies in a racing accident, biking star Joe agrees to go back on the wheels for an exhibition in Chile. On a test run with his girlfriend Stephanie, they stumble upon a badly injured man dying from a mysterious virus. That’s the start of a very bad day for them as they become the target of relentless killers ready to do anything to keep their secret to go out of the mountains.
Downhill was written by Valladares and Barry Keating. It stars Natalie Burns, Bryce Draper, Ariel Levy, and Ignacia Allamand.
