Fans of The Exorcist III, get hyped! According to a recent comment made by director William Peter Blatty over at TheNinthConfiguration, Morgan Creek, “…are planning a new Blu Ray of “my cut”, pretty much confirming that a director’s cut will be officially announced in the near future!
The theatrical cut of the film suffered multiple edits and cuts, including a completely different ending, that Blatty has never been satisfied with. Therefore, seeing a release that he dubs as “his cut” is pretty exciting.
Unfortunately, aside from Blatty’s statement and a few intriguing tweets from Morgan Creek (1, 2, 3), there isn’t anything 100% solid we can offer. We’ll be keeping our ears pressed very closely to the ground on this one, however, as it’s something we’d love to see come to fruition!
