A price will be paid for breaking the rules.

Hulu has set a February 15th release for their new event series, “11/22/63,” an adaptation of Stephen King’s novel about a man sent back in time to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

The trailer was unveiled this weekend, and with it comes our first look at what appears to be a thriller in the vein of Back to the Future. I love the implication that time pushes back when someone attempts to change it.

“11/22/63” comes from J.J. Abrams’ production company Bad Robot, and stars the great James Franco as Jake Epping, an unassuming divorced English teacher who stumbles upon a time portal that leads to 9/9/1958 and goes on a quest to try and prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy. But his mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald, his falling in love and a past that doesn’t want to be changed.

Sarah Gadon, Chris Cooper, Cherry Jones, Daniel Webber, George MacKay, Josh Duhamel, T.R. Knight, Jack Fulton, and Leon Rippy co-star.

Hulu, welcome to the party.
