El Rey Marathoning ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ Series: Hosted by Robert Englund Himself!

Published

on

Valentine’s Day is all about roses, chocolates, romantic candlelit dinners, Barry White music in the background, and possibly some gifts of jewelry, yes?

Well, I say fuck that. Let’s take the rose red of Valentine’s Day and soak it in blood! And what better way to do that then by joining El Rey and their 45-hour (!!!) A Nightmare on Elm Street marathon?

That’s right, El Rey will be hosting a nonstop smorgasbord of Freddy Krueger goodness that kicks off February 13th and doesn’t end until late night on February 14th. And even better is that this entire event is being hosted by Robert Englund, the man who played Freddy in every incarnation aside from the remake. Oh, and the remake is not going to be shown, although sadly neither is Freddy’s Dead or Wes Craven’s New Nightmare.

However, to make up for those two losses, El Rey will be showing several episodes of “Freddy’s Nightmares”, so those of you who haven’t seen them can get a taste of what the show had to offer!

Below is the full schedule.

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.

The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.
