A new teaser for the upcoming mid-season premiere of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” shows Sheriff Rick Grimes and several of the Alexandria residents being forced to walk through a horde of zombies. In order to do this, Grimes drew back upon his previous experience from season 1 and absolutely coats everyone in the entrails and viscera of the undead so that they can move freely through the crowd. However, as the trailer shows, things don’t always go to plan and this time it’s not rain that ruins the party.
Talking about the mid-season finale and the return of the show, creator Robert Kirkman explains, “We pick up right in that moment. Alexandria is overrun. Rick and the kids are all covered in guts trying to get through the crowd. Everyone is where we last saw them, and things get worse from there.”
Season 6 of “The Walking Dead” returns Sunday, February 14 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
