Magnolia Pictures has set a date for the psychological thriller The Ones Below, putting it into theaters and on VOD on May 27th.
Variety has reported that the story of a suburban couple’s standoff with new tenants in the apartment below them marks the feature film debut of David Farr. The British playwright and theater director is best known for his work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and for penning the script for Joe Wright’s thriller Hanna.
The Ones Below, which debuted at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, pays homage to the more paranoid entries in Roman Polanski’s oeuvre as it depicts the tragic consequences of a drunken dinner party.
The Ones Below stars Clemence Poesy (Harry Potter) and David Morrissey (“The Walking Dead”).
