‘Hostage to the Devil’ Trailer Documents Good vs Evil

Causeway Pictures released the new trailer for the upcoming documentary, Hostage to the Devil.

Over 5 years in production, director Marty Stalker has made a film which examines age old questions regarding the existence of the Devil, and the debate over good versus evil, all through the life of a controversial Irish-born Jesuit priest, Fr Malachi Martin.

The film has been funded by Northern Ireland Screen and the Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB).

From Ireland, to the Vatican, to New York, using first-person interviews with paranormal experts including Lorraine Warren, Ralph Sarchie and John Zaffis, along with dramatic reconstructions, archival footage, and Martin’s own words, this spine-chilling documentary takes the audience on a journey through an extraordinary life; marked by battles against the Vatican, scandal, contention and most of all, a deep and all-encompassing belief in the theory and practice of exorcism.

The film explains, in graphic detail, the process and outcomes of exorcism, focusing on the horrifying case study of a four year old girl – Fr Martin’s final exorcism consultation before his death under suspicious circumstances.

Hostage to the Devil invites the audience to draw their own conclusions about Satan, exorcism and the man who described it all as, “a titanic clash of wills that threatens the lives, the sanity, and even the souls of all attending.”
