For much of last year we were teased with little snippets and news blurbs about a new Predator film from writer Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad) and director Shane Black (Iron Man 3, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang). And since news broke at the end of November that Dekker was finished with his script, nothing new has emerged, leaving us wondering what’s going on with the universe’s deadliest hunter. Today, we might be getting a little taste of what’s to come…
The official Predator Facebook page posted the below image that shows the alien hunter along with the tagline, “You’ll never see him coming“. The photo was tagged with the description “Here we go again, bro.”, a reference to the original film. And as for the hunter himself, he looks battle-scarred and ready for action, sporting the infamous shoulder cannon that has caused many a headache.
Perhaps the most notable thing about this image however is that it potentially offers an official name for the upcoming film: The Predator.
While nothing is yet confirmed, it’s a strong indication that the film is moving in the right direction and hopefully we’ll be hearing a lot more about it in the coming months!
