‘The Tank’ Art Heads to Mars With ‘Paranormal Activity’ Producer

THE TANK

The Exchange has been selling international rights for Glacier Films’ horror The Tank from producer Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, WER, SX_Tape).

The Tank is a horror film about six test subjects placed in an isolation chamber to simulate an extended space mission to Mars.

The film is written and directed by Kellie Madison in her feature-length directorial debut. Jack Davenport (Pirates of the Caribbean series), Erik King (“Dexter”), and Marguerite Moreau (“Wet Hot American Summer” series) ended up starring.

Open Road had acquired distribution rights here in the States back in May of 2014, although I’m unsure of the status of that.

What we did find out is that it’s currently in post-production, and has a cool piece of sales art floating around, courtesy of Fabien M.

In the year 2021, NASA places six of its most highly trained astronauts in a sealed tank in Antarctica to simulate what will be the most demanding space mission in U.S. history: a trip to Mars. As mission control continues to throw obstacles in their way to test their abilities, the lines between reality and simulation begin to blur. The Tank quickly becomes a living nightmare where fears become more fatal than the Arctic cold.
