‘Umbrella Corps’ Multi Mission Mode Sounds Like Fun

Published

on

Capcom has announced a new “Multi Mission” mode for the upcoming squad-based Resident Evil spin-off Umbrella Corps where up to six players can compete in what’s essentially a grab bag of multiplayer modes. The team that dominates three out of the five rounds wins, and with eight modes in the rotation, you’ll need to adapt quickly to be victorious.

Here’s an overview of each mode, courtesy of Capcom’s Unity blog.

Target Hunter – One target will be chosen per team and only killing that target will count towards the score. You can choose whether to focus on protecting your own target or aggressively attacking the enemy target.

Respawn Match – Team deathmatch featuring respawns. Take advantage of the on-screen sound radar map to locate the enemies’ random respawn points.

Domination – Secure the specified data transmission point located within the stage for a longer time than the enemy team in order to win.

DNA Hunter – Kill zombies and collect their DNA samples. Destroying the opposing team’s Zombie Jammers is a key strategy in this mode.

SP DNA Hunter – Kill the special mutated zombies and collect their DNA samples. They are particularly tough and immune to the effects of the Zombie Jammer. It’ll take teamwork to bring these creatures down.

Collector – Teams battle it out to see who will be first to collect all 5 briefcases in the stage.

Protector – Find the briefcase and hold it for as long as possible, while fending off the opposition. The player who has it will become a moving target, so teams must work together effectively.

Collar War – Collect the battle data “collars” of downed enemy players, and pick up allies’ collars to prevent the enemy team from getting points.

Umbrella Corps is slated for a digital release this May on PC and PS4.

‘A Man in the Woods With an Axe’ – First Look at ’80s Throwback Slasher [Exclusive]

We have an exclusive first look at A Man in the Woods With an Axe, a blood-soaked, genre-twisting homage to 1980s slasher films.

Spanning four decades, A Man in the Woods With an Axe begins in the summer of 1987 before pushing into the modern era, weaving together timelines and perspectives in a way that builds both dread and intrigue.

Drawing inspiration from genre standouts like Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, Hatchet, and The Cabin in the Woods, the film blends visceral horror with moments of dark humor, creating a uniquely balanced experience that honors tradition while carving its own identity.

Writer-director Dillon Brown (Primal Darkness) aims to deliver everything fans crave from a slasher while boldly subverting expectations with a mid-film twist that redefines the story.

“This is an unapologetic love letter to the films that made me fall in love with horror,” Brown tells Bloody Disgusting. “But I didn’t just want to recreate that feeling; I wanted to challenge it. About halfway through, the film takes a turn that completely changes how you view not only this story, but the genre itself.”

Brown describes the vintage-inspired production as “far and away the bloodiest film I’ve ever made,” with practical effects helmed by Cody Ruch (The Mill, Pig Hill), an instructor at Tom Savini’s Special Make-Up Effects Program.

From Horror Dadz Productions, A Man in the Woods With an Axe is currently in production and targeting an early 2027 release.
