The Creators Behind ‘The Horror’ Need Your Help!

Published

on

Last year right around this time filmmakers Raymond Creamer and Jerry White reached out to me to review their film The Horror. A year later we are still good friends and I’m happy to do anything to help these talented guys out.

From the Press Release:

Moondog Media’s first feature film, The Horror is available for pre-order on VOD today. The film is directed by Jerry J White III, written by Raymond Creamer and stars Creamer and Callie Ott (Lead in WTF!) as newly orphaned twins who travel to Michigan to close their family home. While there, they discover that they aren’t alone and are made to fight for survival; a fight that continues long after the violence ends. Modern Horrors’ review says director Jerry J. White III “makes one of the more impressive genre debuts [of the] year” and that Callie Ott “turns in an amazing performance” while Bloody Disgusting’s Jess Hicks claims Raymond Creamer gives “one of the most intense and rattling performances [she’s] seen in some time”. Now, it’s your chance to witness The Horror for yourself at http://www.moondog.media Help share The Horror as Moondog Media’s second feature film, Little Hand goes into production later this month.

The Horror is now available for pre-order at Moondog Media and I highly recommend you check it out

Jess is a Northeast Ohio native who has loved all things horror and fringe since birth. She has a tendency to run at the mouth about it and decided writing was the only way not to scare everyone away. If you make a hobby into a career it becomes less creepy. Unless that hobby is collecting baby dolls. Nothing makes that less creepy.

Kathryn Newton in Abigail

Universal’s ballerina vampire horror movie Abigail is now available on Digital and arrives July 9 on Blu-ray and DVD from Universal. To whet your appetite for the at-home release, Bloody Disgusting has been provided with an exclusive behind the scenes featurette.

In the video you’ll find below, star Kathryn Newton invites you into the Abattoir, a bloody pit of festering corpses. This is where Abigail and her vampire father dump their victims after draining them, with Newton’s character ending up going for a nasty midnight swim in the film.

How did the Abigail team bring the disgusting body pit to life? And what was it like for Kathryn Newton to be submersed in their gruesome pool of death? Watch the featurette below.

The at-home release features exclusive bonus content, including…

  • Deleted & Extended Scenes
  • Gag Reel
  • ‘Blood Bath’
  • ‘Hunters to Hunted’
  • ‘Becoming a Ballerina Vampire’
  • ‘Directing Duo: Matt & Tyler’
  • Feature Commentary with Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and Editor Michael P. Shawver

Meagan Navarro wrote in her positive review here on Bloody Disgusting, “Radio Silence’s ballerina vampire movie is a bloody blast.” Her review continued, “It’s savagely inventive in terms of its vampiric gore, offering a thrill ride with sharp, pointy teeth.”

And yes, Abigail takes place in the same universe as Radio Silence’s Ready or Not!

In Abigail, “After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight. In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.”

From Radio Silence—the directing team of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett behind the terrifying modern horror hits Ready or Not, 2022’s Scream and last year’s Scream VI—comes a brash, blood-thirsty new vision of the vampire flick, written by Stephen Shields (The Hole in the Ground, Zombie Bashers) and Guy Busick (Scream franchise, Ready or Not).

Abigail stars Melissa Barrera (Scream franchise, In the Heights), Dan Stevens (Gaslit, Legion), Kathryn Newton (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Freaky), William Catlett (Black Lightning, True Story), Kevin Durand (Resident Evil: Retribution, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Angus Cloud (Euphoria, North Hollywood) as the kidnappers and Alisha Weir (Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, Darklands) as Abigail.
