Team Clockworks is bringing a much-needed dose of quintessential Lovecraftian horror to Steam later this month with their sci-fi horror game At the Mountains of Madness. Based on one of H.P. Lovecraft’s more renowned works, it follows a geologist named Dr. William Dyer, who led a failed research expedition into Antarctica in 1930. Only this time, we’ll get to see the horrors that Dyer and company witnessed first-hand. Praise Cthulhu.
The game is coming first to Steam Early Access, but its developer — a two-man team based in Spain, where I hear the r’lyes wgah’nagl stays mostly in the plain — only plans to let it simmer there for about six to nine months before giving it an official release. Mac and Linux are also planned.
