Humanity Faces Extinction in ‘Inferno’ (Trailer)

Published

on

The “Da Vinci Code” series of books/films by Dan Brown are not exactly my favorite pieces of literature, to put it mildly. However, I recognize that they’re wildly popular and, in their own way, have inspired people to look a little deeper into art and history and all the mysteries both have to hide. Now the conspiracies and intrigue are about to go to a new and global level in Inferno, the upcoming entry into the film franchise. The full trailer can be seen below.

Directed by Ron Howard, “…famous symbologist Robert Langford (Tom Hanks) finds himself on a trail of clues tied to the great Dante himself. When Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories. Together, they race across Europe and against the clock to foil a deadly global plot.

The idea here, from what I can gather, is that a billionaire has created a plague-like weapon that is capable of wiping out half of humanity. However, this billionaire views it as a precautionary method so as to ensure the survival of humanity as a species. It’s kinda like the plot of Kingsman: The Secret Service, only this takes itself seriously.

Inferno comes to theaters this October.
