Reaction videos are all the rage because, well, I have no idea. So Twentieth Century Fox thought it would be a cool gimmick to have two robots react to the trailer for their sci-fi thriller Morgan, produced by Ridley Scott. I’m not quite sure Walt Disney would be impressed as his animatronics from the 1950s were more impressive than this nearly expressionless human-looking thingy.
But I digress, these are allegedly two of the world’s most advanced robots – magicLab’s EDI (Electronic Deceptive Intelligence) and the University of Pisa’s FACE (Facial Automation for Conveying Emotions). These bots are further evidence that we’re never going to see the general public using flying cars in our lifetime.
Oh yeah, there’s a new clip, too. I added that below the actual creepy video….
In Luke Scott’s Morgan, releasing September 2, a corporate troubleshooter (Kate Mara) is sent to a remote, top-secret location, where she is to investigate and evaluate a terrifying accident. She learns the event was triggered by a seemingly innocent “human,” who presents a mystery of both infinite promise and incalculable danger.
