Back in mid-June, Adam posted a story about the 16-bit slasher RPG Camp Sunshine, which is being developed by Fossil Games. The game, “…puts you in a Summer Camp during an attack by a lunatic in a mascot costume. It’s up to you to explore the history of the camp and put an end to the night of bloodshed.”
Summer Camp will deliver, hand-drawn 16-bit graphics, a story-driven narrative, a unique soundtrack, and it seems like the developers are very proud of the lighting effects. When it comes to horror, good lighting does make a huge difference, even if it’s a more retro-stylized game, so I’m excited to see what they’ve got up their sleeves.
The game has received a release date for October 28th and will be available on PC and Mac via Steam with plans for iOS and Android later in the year. The latter options are especially dangerous because I have a feeling I’ll be spending a lot of time on the toilet playing this game*.
*TMI? Yeah, probably.
