This Fan-Made ‘The Exorcist’ Poster Is Genuinely Terrifying

Published

on

We don’t throw around the term “nightmare fuel” loosely, but this sure is nightmare fuel.

What can be said about William Friedkin’s The Exorcist that hasn’t already been said? Nothing, really. When it was released back in 1973, audiences were so terrified that they fled the theater, and over 40 years later, the horror masterpiece is still as potently terrifying as it ever was. The film is widely considered to be the scariest ever made, and you won’t find me arguing with that.

The scariest movie of all time has now been turned into the scariest poster of all time.

Artist Sam Wolfe Connelly was recently commissioned by a super fan to make the ultimate poster for The Exorcist, and oh boy did he knock this one straight out of the park. The poster depicts a possessed Regan MacNeil on her bed, and the look on her face is sure to send chills up and down your spine. What makes the art so creepy is that it’s mostly bathed in darkness, to the point that if it was hanging on your wall you’d barely even be able to see it at night. But when those lights go completely off, that’s when the glow-in-the-dark feature is activated.

Turn off the lights and Regan’s eyes and sinister smile emit an eerie glow.

Check out the poster below, along with an equally nightmarish variant. We should note that these were private commissions, so they cannot be purchased. But that’s probably for the best, because I’m pretty sure they’d prevent you from ever again getting a good night’s sleep!

‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Prequel ‘Furiosa’ Rated “R” for “Strong Violence” and “Grisly Images”

Anya Taylor-Joy fights the world in George Miller’s hotly anticipated Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the upcoming prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road that’s coming next month.

Warner Bros.’ Furiosa has been rated “R” this week for…

“Sequences of strong violence, and grisly images.”

Furiosa will release in theaters on May 24, 2024. The film will tell the origin story of the character Charlize Theron made famous in Fury Road, also directed by George Miller.

“As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by the Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”

Chris Hemsworth co-stars as Warlord Dementus.

Whereas Fury Road essentially happened over three days and two nights, this happens over many years,” Miller had teased during a press conference last year.

Miller is co-writing and directing the movie for Warner Bros.

Back in 2015, Mad Max: Fury Road grossed nearly $400 million worldwide at the box office and won SIX Oscars, while also scoring rave reviews nearly across the entire board.

Last we heard, Miller also intends on making sequels centered on Tom Hardy‘s Mad Max.
